Below is an overview of the available intakes in New Zealand for both graduate and undergraduate programs.

Spring Intake: February – June (Application deadlines: October–December of the previous year).

Fall Intake: July – November (Application deadlines: March-May of the same year).

Undergraduate Application Process

English Test Requirements

IELTS: An overall band score of 6.0

TOEFL: A minimum score of 80

PTE: The minimum required score for PTE is 50

  • Minimum 12 years of education like Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)/Intermediate qualification.

  • Results from an English language proficiency test, such as IELTS.

  • Required documents like academic transcripts, letters of recommendation and personal statements.

Postgraduate Application Process

The process for postgraduate programs is the same as the undergraduate one. However, there are minor factors that usually differ. 

English Test Requirements

Postgraduate programs also require English language proficiency scores for a successful application at New Zealand’s universities.

Following are the tests accepted for New Zealand university applications for Pakistani students:

IELTS:  The overall score required is 6.5 

TOEFL: A minimum score of 90 

PTE: A minimum score for PTE is 60

  • A bachelor’s degree or any 16 years of equivalent education. 

  • Relevant work experience to fill the gap. 

  • Required documents including academic transcripts, letters of recommendation and personal statements.

Visa Application Process for Pakistani Students

Following is the complete visa application process that students need to know before applying for New Zealand’s student visa:

  • Obtain a valid passport, with a validity extending at least 3 months beyond your planned stay in New Zealand.  

  • Receive your acceptance letter from a New Zealand educational institution. 

  • Provide tuition fee payment proof. 

  • Submit a medical certificate and police clearance certificate. 

  • Submit your visa application online through the immigration website. 

  • Wait for the processing.
