Selection criteria:
Bursaries will be awarded on a "first-come, first-served" basis to eligible applicants.
Applications will close once the final bursary has been awarded and a suitable number of reserve applications have been received.
You don't need to submit any evidence after submitting your online application form. We will verify your household income, as assessed by Student Finance England (or equivalent) in your final year of undergraduate study, via the interface between the Student Loans Company and Durham University ("the HE Portal").
To be eligible for the Durham Master's Bursary, applicants must:
- hold an offer of a place on an eligible full or part-time postgraduate programme at Durham University to start studies in October 2026.
- not already hold a master's level qualification or be studying towards a master's level qualification at the time of application.
- have been assessed as a home student for tuition fee purposes by Durham University.
- have been assessed as a home student for student finance purposes in the final year of undergraduate study, by Student Finance England, Student Finance Northern Ireland, Student Awards Agency for Scotland or Student Finance Wales*.
- have had household income assessed by Student Finance England (or equivalent in Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales) in the final year of undergraduate study and been awarded a maintenance loan greater than the "non-income-assessed" amount.
Complete and submit the bursary application form.
