Award description

The Studentship is awarded on the basis of scholarly merit in the field of global Spanish studies and the articulation of individual goals for undertaking the PhD.

Award value

Full-time or part-time UK (home) fees. Please note that although the Studentship provides funding to cover the UK tuition fees, international students are eligible to apply but would need to cover the rest of the tuition fees from alternative sources.

Eligibility criteria

• For students wishing to pursue an MPhil/PhD in Spanish & Latin American Studies Research at King's College London in 2026/27.
• For students whose research is in the field of the global Spanish studies.
• Open to residents of all nationalities.

To be eligible to apply for the Von Schlippenbach Studentship, you must:

• have a conditional offer for a Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies Research MPhil/PhD at King's College London,
• meet the entry requirements for the above programme,
• pursue research related to global Spanish studies,
• be legally allowed to study in the United Kingdom (i.e. not restricted from entering the UK or from applying for a study visa).

Award conditions

The offer of a Studentship is provisional upon the offer holder accepting and enrolling on the Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies Research MPhil/PhD at King's College London.
