The recipient will be selected by Bachelor of Early Childhood Curriculum Studies faculty. Faculty teaching ECCS 155 will nominate students for the award. A committee of BECCS faculty will review the nominations and select the recipient using the criteria above. Student Financial Aid will be notified by the Department of Human Services and Early Learning.
Recipients will be notified via e-mail. Committee selections are final, appeals will not be considered.
Typically given out in the Winter term. Selections will take place annually at the end of April.
To be considered for this award, students must:
Be enrolled in Bachelor of Early Childhood and Curriculum Studies program and be in good academic standing
Be enrolled in ECCS 155, Curriculum II: Languages of Play
Through planning, preparation and participation in the play workshop assignment, demonstrate creative and unique use of play resources, materials, and loose parts and reflectiveness about play as an expressive language
Demonstrate commitment to and thoughtfulness about their own learning as evidenced by reflection on their workshop.
