Selection criteria:
The University awards bursaries on a yearly basis and at two levels:
Household income up to £31,250: £3,750 bursary.
Household income £31,251 to £63,500: £2,500 bursary.
In addition to any standard bursary award, students who are estranged or care experienced may be eligible for a further £1,250 bursary award, and students who can evidence childcare responsibilities to dependents under 18 will be eligible for a further one-off payment £500.
You can take your bursary as cash to help with your living costs, to help pay your accommodation, or even to help with tuition fees. It is up to you how you choose to use your bursary. Bursary funds will be disbursed in two payments over the academic year.
Please note that only the following home fees students are eligible to apply for a means-tested bursary:
UK nationals who have lived in the UK, EEA, Switzerland, or Gibraltar for at least the last three years AND have lived continuously there between 31 December 2020 and the start of their course
Irish nationals who have lived in the UK and Islands for three years before the start of their course
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens with settled status (or Indefinite Leave to Remain or permanent residency) who have been ordinarily resident in the UK or Islands for the three years immediately before the start of their course (unless the residency in the UK or Islands was mainly for the purpose of education)
EU, EEA and Swiss citizens with pre-settled status who have been ordinarily resident in the UK or Islands for the three years immediately before the start of their course.
You can apply directly for a bursary. (Please only fill out this form if you are a home fees student).
Please note that in some cases, we may require additional information in order to carry out our assessment. If this applies, we will contact you.
