The aim of the Hardship Fund is to support students who may be facing financial difficulties as well as students who may be facing unexpected and significant short-term situation outside their control resulting in them requiring financial assistance. The fund is not in place to support throughout the duration of the programme of studies and is not able to meet all expenditures. The student hardship fund is in place to assist with a contribution to core living costs. The fund cannot support nor contribute towards the payment of tuition fees. Private paying students will need to be up to date with their tuition fee payments before their applications are processed. Each application is assessed on individual need and there is no guarantee that an award will be made. The maximum amount payable is £1,000. Buckinghamshire New University students are also able to apply for the hardship fund with Regent College London.
