If you are a student joining the PGCE secondary programme you may be eligible for a Government training bursary or scholarship.
The bursary/scholarship amount is based on the highest previous qualification that you have attained to date.
For PGCE Secondary Science (Physics) and PGCE Secondary Modern Foreign Languages, the bursaries and scholarships are available to all students regardless of fee status.
For all other PGCE secondary subjects, only trainees who are entitled to support under the student finance criteria will be eligible for a scholarship or bursary.
Students will only be eligible for a government bursary if they expect to seek a teaching post in England on successful completion of their training course.
Overseas degrees
Students with an overseas degree may be eligible for a bursary if their degree is equivalent to a UK honours degree with class 2:2 or higher, a UK Master's degree or a PhD.
We will use UK ENIC to assess equivalencies. The Get into Teaching website can help students obtain a free statement of comparability from UK ENIC.
