Only applicants who meet all the eligibility criteria will be considered. Selection is made based on academic merit. Qualifications submitted for admission to the University will be converted to the common scale, which will determine whether an applicant is eligible for the Award. Eligible applicants with multiple qualifications will be ranked according to the qualification used as the basis of admission.
The Award is available to a student commencing at the ANU in Session 1, 2026 (this being: Semester 1, summer session, or autumn session of 2026) who:
is an international student
is from one of the following Countries or Regions:
- China (including Hong Kong and Macau)
- Japan
- Mongolia
- Taiwan
- Republic of Korea or
- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea
meets the following minimum entry requirements:
- for an undergraduate student: an academic Selection Rank of 85 (or equivalent) or above or
- for a postgraduate student: has received a minimum GPA of 5.5 (or equivalent), and for Australian student visa purposes is considered onshore at the time of the award assessment,
is not the recipient of an external sponsorship that covers all or part of the cost of the student's tuition fees with the University.
