The International English Language Institute Merit Scholarship is for international undergraduate students. You must be starting an English language pathway program at Toronto Metropolitan University's English Language Institute (ELI) in the Fall 2026 term. It's for students who do well academically, volunteer, join clubs and show leadership qualities.
Key points to remember:
- Must be an international student starting an English language pathway program in Fall 2026
- Must have a final admission average of at least 85%, an A, or an equivalent
- Must write a statement for submission (minimum 250 words, maximum 500 words) responding to the following prompt: "What do the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals mean to you and how could you contribute to achieving them?"
- If a gap year was taken it must be no longer than one academic year
