In order to be eligible, candidates must:
- Have received and accepted an offer for a full-time postgraduate taught master's programme starting September 2026. The student must be entering onto a degree programme based at Birmingham's UK campus.
- Expect to meet the academic conditions of their offer.
- Be classed as Chinese nationals or domiciled in China.
- Bachelor's degree must be from a university in the China ‘985' project or ‘211' project with the following minimum average scores.
- Applicants from ‘211' universities: minimum 80%
- Applicants from ‘985' universities: minimum 75%
- Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and have sufficient funds to cover the remaining tuition fee.
- Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.
- Start their studies at the University in September 2026 (the scholarship award may not be deferred).
