The University of Birmingham is pleased to announce a scholarship of £10,000 for select students in the USA applying for entry to a postgraduate taught programme at the University starting September 2026.
The scholarship will be awarded to the highest performing students based on academic merit and athletic standing starting their University of Birmingham programme in the 2026/2027 academic year.
Who can apply?
Student athletes, citizens of and domiciled in the USA, who have an offer to study a Masters programme at the University of Birmingham Edgbaston campus starting September 2026.
Where a Masters is a two year programme, the scholarship applies for the first year only.
Eligible countries
Open to students living in (domiciled) in the following countries: USA.
To apply for the scholarship students will need to have accepted an offer from Birmingham, have selected Birmingham as their firm choice, and paid the deposit. The last date to apply for the scholarship is 30 June 2026. Selection for the award will be based on academic merit and athletic standing

Only under exceptional circumstances in which the University is unable to choose an awardee based solely on academic merit (for instance, if two candidates have identical grades) will applicants be asked to attend an online interview.
