Selection criteria:
The scholarship is open to applicants who meet one of the following categories:
Students who are domiciled in (permanently living in) one of the following countries: France, Germany, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain or Sweden
OR current students or alumni from one of our partner institutes in Europe: KU Leuven, Leiden University, Lund University, University College Dublin, University of Amsterdam, University of Helsinki, University of Paris-Saclay and University of Zurich.
As well as being from one of these groups, to be eligible for the scholarship, students must:
Be classed by the university as an international fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.
Have received an offer for a full-time postgraduate programme starting September 2026 at the University of Birmingham's UK campus.
Accept an unconditional offer from the University of Birmingham by the deadline of 30 June 2026. This includes paying the £3,000 deposit by the deadline.
Be studying an eligible 180-credit postgraduate taught degree in the 2026/27 academic year as listed below.

Be domiciled in one of the eligible countries, or be a current student or alum from one of our partners.
Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.
To apply for the scholarship students must complete the linked scholarship application form.When completing the application form, applicants will be asked about their undergraduate studies (in progress or completed) and the postgraduate course that has been applied for at the University of Birmingham.Awards will be made upon the basis of academic merit to support the highest-performing students.
