Thailand Postgraduate Chancellor's Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria

Students who are applying for government scholarships are still able to apply for our awards, but if the student does receive a full government scholarship or alternative scholarship award then they are no longer eligible for this scholarship.

In order to be eligible, candidates must:

• You should have an excellent academic background. Candidates should have or be expecting a 2.1 in a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Have received an offer for a full-time postgraduate programme starting September 2025. The student must be entering the first year of postgraduate programme based at Birmingham's UK campus.
• Meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme.
• Be classed as domiciled in Thailand.
• Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.
• Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.
• Start their studies at the University in September 2025 (the scholarship award may not be deferred).
• Students seeking to study on a course solely delivered as a ‘distance learning' programme are not eligible for this scholarship.
• Postgraduate programmes including MBA, MPhil, MRes, PhD, PGDip and PGCert programmes are not eligible.
• Be registered with and have their postgraduate study application attached to one of our local representatives listed below in alphabetical order.
• Have paid their £3,000 deposit by the deadline stated in their offer letter from the Admissions Office and accepted the offer before the scholarship deadline.
