To be eligible, you must have applied for one of the following one-year taught postgraduate programmes at the University of Bristol:
MSc Water and Environmental Management
MSc Global Development and Environment
MSc Medical Statistics and Health Data Science
MSc Climate Change Science and Policy
MSc Public Policy
MSc Education (Policy and International Development)
MSc Digital Health
To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must:
Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country.
Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2024.
By September 2024, hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master's degree).
Not have studied or worked for more than one (academic) year or more in a high-income country
Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format.
Commonwealth Shared Scholarships cover:
tuition fees
maintenance/living cost stipend
approved airfare from the scholar's home country to the UK and return at the end of the award
thesis grant
study travel grant (if applicable)
a one-off arrival allowance.
You must apply using the Commonwealth Commission's online application system. As part of the application, you will be asked how your inclusion on the programme will benefit your home country.
You will also need to apply for a place on one of the eligible master's programmes at the University before you apply for the scholarship. We can only consider scholarship applications from candidates who have applied for an eligible programme and have a valid University of Bristol student ID.
