In making the recommendation, the selection committee considers, in descending order of priority: a. academic achievement and b. potential to contribute to applied Economics.
If, in any year, there is no candidate of sufficient merit, no offer is made.

This scholarship offers financial support to a promising UC student to continue studying Economics in a research-based degree at the postgraduate level at University of Canterbury.
Tenure: One year
Applicable Enrolment During Tenure: Full-time enrolment in a programme for either a research-based honours degree in Economics or a research-based master's degree in Economics.
