In making the recommendation, the selection committee, in consultation with the GRI Research Leadership Team, gives equal consideration to: a. academic achievement b. the quality of the institution and programme pertaining to the applicant's qualifying degree(s) and c. prior relevant research experience, research publications, and other outputs.
If, in any year, there is no candidate of sufficient merit, no scholarship is offered.
The scholarship supports PhD students associated with the Geospatial Research Institute Toi Hangarau (GRI)
Value/Benefits:
a. NZ $7,000 per annum
b. Grants for travel and other costs up to a value of NZ $4,000 per annum
