The BAME in Higher Education Ambition Scholarship for University of Kent Graduates

In order to apply for this scholarship, you will need to submit the following documents:

• CV*
• 200 word statement on ''Why I have chosen to continue my studies at the University of Kent".
• Please upload your statement in Word or pdf format. Other formats will be rejected.
• ''You will be asked to confirm by way of a check-box that we may use the demographic information you supplied to us when you started at Kent to establish your eligibility for this award.

*A CV can be a list of your previous academic or professional achievements.

Criteria

• For current Kent Undergraduates with a 2.1 or first class degree continuing to Master's study at any of Kent's locations (UK Fee paying students)
• Applicants must begin postgraduate study in September 2026.
• For applicants who identify as Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME). Kent understands, at times, that ‘BAME' does not fully reflect the complexity or nuances of diversity within the UK. Here, we use ‘BAME' to highlight racial identities critically underrepresented within Higher Education-a focus this scholarship is intended to address.
• Paid towards tuition fees.
• Postgraduate Taught programmes only.
• Postgraduate Research Master's students are not eligible as the fees are lower.
• MArch students who are direct entrants from an UG degree are eligible.
• Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma Students are not eligible.
• Students in receipt of this award are not permitted to also hold the Kent Graduate Ambition Scholarship or the Widening Participation Ambition Scholarship.
• This award cannot be used in conjunction with any complete fee waiver. Successful applicants offered multiple awards must confirm which award they prefer to accept and any remaining scholarships will be made available to a reserve candidate.
• Undergraduates applying to study at any of the following University of Kent campuses are eligible to apply: Canterbury, Medway.
