International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship

In recognition of the high standard of applications we receive for our Master's degrees, we are delighted to offer our International Merit Scholarship worth a tuition fee discount of £5,000 to *International fee-paying students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility

This scholarship applies to students starting their course in April and September 2026.

Our International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship rewards high achieving *international students who apply for any campus based postgraduate taught degree programme with a qualification equivalent to a UK first class degree. If eligible, students starting with us in April or September 2026 will be awarded a £5,000 discount from the standard tuition fee.

Terms and conditions

• You must be classified as an international student for fee purposes.
• You must be starting a full-time, campus-based Master's course or PGCE commencing in April 2026, or September 2026.
• The fee discount will be calculated based on the standard tuition fee.
• The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum of one year and will not apply for periods of industrial placement, resit years or if you suspend your studies for any reason.
• In accordance with scholarship guidelines, students are allowed to hold only one University of Leicester scholarship. If you are awarded more than one scholarship, you will only receive the higher value award.
• If you currently have a conditional offer of a place at the University, you will still need to fulfil any conditions stated on your offer letter.
