The University of Southampton will:
cover 100% of tuition fee costs for each year of study (3 years for UG and 1 year for PGT)
provide a bursary for each year of study to help with additional study costs?
provide a welcome pack
support with university accommodation (if you have specific requirements, please contact the Sanctuary Coordinator, Claire Giles).
Sanctuary Scholarship eligibility criteria
Admission
Applicants must be holding an offer from the University of Southampton to study on an Undergraduate or Postgraduate Taught course starting September 2025.
Immigration
to be an asylum seeker - a person who has made a claim within the UK for refugee status, or,
to be a person who has been granted some form of temporary status as a result of an Asylum claim - such as limited leave to remain.
Other Criteria
Priority will be given to those in neighbouring counties Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Wiltshire, Sussex, and West Surrey
You must not be eligible for Government funding (Student Finance) by virtue of your immigration status, as detailed above. If you hold a student visa, you are not eligible for this scholarship.
