Selection criteria:
Prospective postgraduate research students can apply for financial support towards their university or private accommodation costs. A number of awards are available of £1,750 per annum for the course duration. Selection is based on financial need.
Additional criteria
- You must have applied for a postgraduate research programme: MPhil, PhD, MSc(Res), MSt(Res), EngD, MFA.
- Eligible applicants should have a gross annual household income of under £40,000, and must articulate a need for support through a personal statement within the application form.
- If you are applying for a postgraduate research programme, your programme start date must be one of the following:August 2026September 2026October 2026January 2027May 2027
Apply for your chosen postgraduate course at the University of St Andrews beginning in the 2026-27 academic year. Your course should meet the eligibility criteria for this scholarship (see above). After submitting your course application, you must allow up to three working days to receive login details for the My Application portal.When you have received your login details, apply for the scholarship by logging into My Application, follow the links to Scholarships and Funding and then search for Accommodation Award - Postgraduate in the Scholarships and funding catalogue.
