The Burton Scholarship

The Burton Scholarship will support one undergraduate student with their studies at the University of Surrey by providing £12,000 (£4,000 per academic year for up to three years of study). An additional £4,000 will be given should a Professional Training Year or integrated masters year be taken.

The terms of the scholarship listed above are at the discretion of the donor and may be subject to change before awarding.

To apply for this scholarship, the applicant must:

• Be a Home/UK student
• Be a first-year student studying any Undergraduate degree at the University of Surrey, beginning September 2026 (please note that any students who will be in a Foundation Year during 2026/27 are not eligible)
• Have a household income of less than £40,000.

Please note that we will need to verify your household income through the Student Finance England portal and, for us to do so, you will need the following:

• To be in receipt of Student Loan support from Student Finance England/Student Loans Company
• To give your permission for your household income information to be shared with the University of Surrey.
