China Scholarships Council Scholarship

The University will notify you if your application has been nominated for further consideration.

If you've been nominated and have submitted your application to the CSC, you can track progress using your CSC account.

Scholarship winners will be notified directly by the CSC. You will be notified via your CSC online tracking account and will also receive a final award letter from the University.

The scholarships are open to Chinese nationals intending to begin a PhD in the 2025/26 academic year. They will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and China Scholarships Council (CSC) priorities.

Open to students from China only.

You must be a citizen and permanent resident of the People's Republic of China at the time of application.
You must hold an unconditional offer for a full-time PhD degree programme at the University of York, commencing in Autumn 2025.
You are eligible to apply if you have an outstanding ATAS certificate as your only offer condition.
You must fulfil any English language requirements of your offer by the deadline.
You must satisfy the eligibility and selection criteria set out by the CSC.

If you are currently studying the final year of a Bachelors or Masters degree, you are eligible to apply for the scholarship if you hold a conditional offer, where the only condition is the successful completion of your degree or the receipt of your ATAS certificate. If your offer is still conditional on fulfilling English language requirements, you cannot apply.
