English language requirements

All international applicants are required to meet Curtin's English language requirements, such as IELTS or an equivalent qualification.

For most undergraduate courses, students need the equivalent of IELTS 6.5 overall and a minimum of 6.0 in each band. Some courses require a lower or higher level of English.

Alternative pathways

Students who haven't met the university's minimum entry requirements may be eligible to study at Curtin English, Curtin College or both. These pathway options help students progress to undergraduate or postgraduate study. John Curtin Global Excellence Scholarship

This prestigious scholarship is awarded to those students who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence through exceptional academic performance. Eligible students will receive a 40 per cent discount on their tuition fee for the duration of the course.

Curtin Global Merit Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to reward and empower deserving students to continue their education and attain success in their chosen field. The scholarship carries a 20 per cent reduction in the tuition fee for the duration of the course.

Curtin Global Future Leaders Scholarship

This scholarship gives students the opportunity to pursue their ambitions and receive a world-class education. Eligible students will receive a one-off tuition fee credit of AUD 10,000 to help support their studies.

Curtin English Scholarship

The Curtin English Scholarship is available to international students who complete a Curtin English course and enrol in a Curtin undergraduate or postgraduate course. The scholarship provides a financial credit towards their Curtin course tuition fees.

Cyber Security Lab

Students get to simulate cyberattacks and develop defensive strategies in a dedicated Cyber Security Lab designed for team-based learning.

Purpose-built classrooms

Green Energy Electric Park (GEEP)

Students get to conduct research and experiments on solar, wind, hydro and hydrogen systems, battery energy-storage based microgrids, hybrid power systems and power converters.
