University of York
University of York is a research intensive university and a proud member of the elite Russell Group of universities. Founded on principles of excellence, equality and opportunity for all, it opened in 1963 with just 230 students. There are now over 30 academic departments and research centres and the student body has expanded too. Since its foundation in 1963, the University has powered its way to a consistently high ranking in the UK and is one of just six post-war universities to have appeared in the world top 100. Students will be part of a diverse and supportive environment, located in a beautiful, historic and unique European city.
York offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the subject areas of arts and humanities, sciences and social sciences. Through a combination of excellent teaching, a rich and varied campus life and a cultured city, students will have the experience of a lifetime. It’s a leading UK university for academic excellence. The international foundation pathways are for students who do not meet the academic or English language requirements for direct entry to their chosen undergraduate or Master’s degree. The institution will help students to strengthen their study, academic and English language skills before they enter university.
Located within walking distance of York city centre, its safe and attractive Heslington campus is home to nine colleges and most of the departments. The University also has several departments located in the city centre at the historic King's Manor.
