Students wishing to apply to UCR School of Business must meet the entry criteria for their program. Entry requirements vary between subjects and the mode and level of study.
Applicants must apply directly to UCR School of Business through the website, and must be able to provide evidence of their existing qualifications through certificates and transcripts. For graduate programs, students must also supply their resume, a letter of recommendation, and a statement of purpose.
UCR School of Business is test optional for GRE, GMAT and Executive Assessment Scores.
International students may have to demonstrate their English language proficiency in order to be accepted onto a study program at UCR School of Business. The standard requirement for most courses is an overall IELTS score of 6.5, or an equivalent qualification.
This may be higher for some programs. For example, at doctorate level, the IELTS requirement rises to an overall score of 7.0 with no band score below 6.0.

Scholarships are typically awarded by individual schools and departments, and accepted students can browse available scholarships through UCR's Scholarship Universe platform, which includes outside agency scholarships. The Graduate School (AGSM) is proud to offer scholarship funding to approximately 96 percent of its admitted students.
Students may also be eligible for ongoing financial awards throughout their study program, and should check their eligibility for such awards throughout their studies. Graduate students may have the option to apply for assistantships to earn an income while they study.
External scholarships and funding opportunities may also be open to international students.
The UCR Online MBA program launched in 2026, giving students around the world the opportunity to earn a prestigious UCR MBA in a flexible, easy-to-access manner. The entirely digital nature of the program means that students do not have to attend campus for classes; completing their studies wholly online.
