The UC campus is home to five faculties offering diverse and specialised study options across interconnected disciplines.

Faculty of Arts and Design

Offers bachelor's, master's and research degrees in journalism, communication and media, design and architecture, international studies and humanities. Students benefit from purpose-built facilities including 3D printing, robotics and Workshop7, ranked #1 in Australia for Architecture & Building (Learning Resources and Teaching Quality), graduating with industry-ready skills.

Faculty of Business, Government and Law

Develops confident, future-ready professionals through strong links with government and industry. Ranked #1 in Australia for business and management (postgraduate full-time employment), graduates are prepared for leadership roles in a global economy. Study areas include economics, finance, entrepreneurship, law, public policy and administration, commerce and international relations.

Faculty of Education

Specialises in early childhood, primary, secondary education and TESOL. All courses are accredited by the ACT Teacher Quality Institute and recognised across Australia. Students gain practical experience through over 25 affiliated schools. Graduates achieve strong outcomes, with 95.2 percent employed full-time within four months (Good Universities Guide 2025).

Faculty of Health

UC's largest faculty, accounting for over 40 percent of students. Around 90 percent of graduates are employed full-time within four months (Good Universities Guide 2025). The faculty trains clinicians, professionals and researchers across applied health and sport disciplines.

Faculty of Science and Technology

Offers programmes in environmental, medical and forensic sciences, as well as IT, engineering, mathematics and information systems. A national leader for postgraduate full-time employment in Computing and Information Systems, UC equips graduates with skills for evolving industries.

Eligibility

UC offers numerous courses of study, from pathway options that help students gain admission to university to doctorate and research courses.

Students will need to meet the general overall entry requirements of the university and specific programme-based requirements depending on the study option chosen.

Undergraduate courses

There are specific admission requirements for gaining entry into international courses. Students who have not met minimum entry requirements may try for admission through pathway courses that are offered by University of Canberra College (UCC). Qualifications will also be considered on a case-by-case basis for admission.

Postgraduate courses

Admission and additional requirements vary with specific courses and are outlined under each programme description on the website.

What to submit

International students must submit in line with their application, some supporting documents including:

• Academic transcripts and certificates showing completion of study
• English proficiency level test scores
• Work experience through a resume and statement of employment. This must be an official document that is produced by the employer outlining responsibilities, role and duration of employment
• Overview of previous study, if seeking credit or advanced standing.

Certified translations are required if the requested documents are not in English.

English language requirements

All international students must meet minimum English proficiency requirements.

Bruce Campus

UC's primary campus is nestled in the suburb of Bruce and surrounded by native wildlife and trees. Located just minutes from Canberra's Centre, it offers a lively campus experience for students.

With onsite cafes, bars, library, health clubs, medical centre and more, the Bruce Campus offers facilities that cater for study, research and a student-lifestyle.

Accommodation

UC offers guaranteed, modern and secure on-campus accommodation for all new international students starting from only AUD 216.50 per week. Students can pick from a wide range of accommodation options, from private studio apartments through to 12 individual bedrooms in a multi-share apartment.

Campus developments

A multi-billion-dollar campus development project has been designed to transform UC's physical surroundings to create an integrated, innovative and future proof, world-class academic learning environment. Developments will be focused on offering new opportunities for international partnerships, ground-breaking research, innovative learning experiences and lively networking activities.

Recently completed projects include the University of Canberra Hospital, sporting commons, basketball court and a new optometry lab. These developments will provide students with more work-integrated learning opportunities such as internships and access to industry projects.

UC has new international scholarship on offer for 2027, designed to acknowledge and reward the achievements of meritorious students. Scholarships help students remain focused on their studies and reach their future goals.

University of Canberra Excellence Scholarship

This is awarded to commencing international students from specific countries applying to a UC undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degree at University of Canberra's Australian campuses.

Value: minimum AUD 11,000 per annum, 30 percent off tuition fee for the duration of the degree

Minimum criteria:

• Any citizenship
• For bachelor's degree: 80 percent or equivalent
• For master's degree: 75 percent or equivalent
• Limited bachelor's or master's courses
• Diplomatic students are not eligible

University of Canberra International High Achiever Scholarship

This is awarded to commencing international students applying to a UC undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degree at University of Canberra's Australian campuses.

Value: Minimum AUD 7,000 per annum, 20 percent off tuition fee for the duration of the degree.

Minimum criteria:

• Any citizenship
• For bachelor's degree: 80 percent or equivalent
• For master's degree: 75 percent or equivalent
• Limited bachelor's or master's courses
• Diplomatic students are not eligible

University of Canberra Merit Scholarship

This is awarded to commencing international students applying to a UC undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degree at University of Canberra's Australian campuses.

Value: Minimum AUD 3,000 per annum, 10 percent off tuition fee for the duration of the degree.

Minimum criteria:

• Any citizenship
• For bachelor's degree: 70 percent or equivalent
• For master's degree: 65 percent or equivalent
• Limited bachelor's or master's courses
• Diplomatic students are not eligible

Student Health & Safety

The health and safety of all students on campus is a paramount priority for the University of Canberra.

The medical and counselling centre is a free and confidential service on campus for eligible students. Through this service, students and staff can see general practitioners for medical consultations or receive counselling support from a psychologist.

The security team operates 24 hours a day with regular patrols around the campus. Comprehensive CCTV covers network across the university, with a 24/7 control room in operation. The campus security team will strive to provide a secure and safe environment for staff, students, visitors and student residences, working tirelessly to ensure that everyone on campus is safe and secure.

Students can feel free to request the security team for assistance if they feel that their safety is compromised in any situation.

Graduate outcomes

UC is rated as one of the best institutions for graduate employment outcomes in Australia, with 92 percent graduate full time employment rate. The graduate outcomes for UC students are among Top 5 in Australia for overall employment 3 years after graduation (QILT Graduate Outcomes Survey, 2024)

UC undergraduates' median salaries across all study areas are also well above the national average, at AUD 72,400 per year, as per QILT 2024.
