Bachelor of Science in Earth and Space Exploration - Astrobiology and Biogeosciences

STEM-classified degree: graduates are eligible for 3 years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) in the USA. This degree is taught by ASU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The faculty include 15 National Academy of Sciences members, 3 Pulitzer Prize winners and 2 Noble Prize winners. Astrobiology and biogeosciences are closely related. Astrobiology informs the exploration for life on other worlds, while biogeosciences motivates exploration of life's limits on Earth. Students in the astrobiology and biogeosciences concentration in the Bachelor of Science program in Earth and space exploration acquire a strong and rigorous foundation in geology, biology, chemistry and astronomy. They develop the systems-thinking perspective needed to: contribute to the search for life on other planets study how the integrated Earth-life system evolves and responds to global environmental challenges, understand the complex and evolving diversity and distribution of life on Earth.

3.0 GPA or equivalent. Must have three years of high school coursework. (If you are currently in high school, ASU needs to see 9–11 grade coursework. If you have completed high school, ASU needs to see 10–12 grade coursework.) Must have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
