Baylor University's Master of Athletic students are educating to provide comprehensive patient care. Using a competency-based approach, students receive instruction in the prevention, immediate care, and clinical valuation and diagnosis of medical conditions. Students will also receive instruction related to overall health and well-being of patients and the administrative topics related to athletic training.The Athletic Training Program (ATP) offers a nationally competitive clinical and didactic education aimed at the development of scholars and leaders who will advance the profession of athletic training. The ATP develops a contemporary clinician with the ability to practice with other medical professionals in a variety of healthcare settings.

Entry requirements for Baylor University

Applicant received a “C” (2.0) or better in the following prerequisite coursework:

Human Anatomy

Human Physiology

Statistics or Research Methods

Nutrition

Medical Terminology

Physics or biomechanics

Psychology

General Biology

Chemistry

Applicants are required to provide proof of ECC certification obtained within the last six months. Applicants must complete a Basic Life Support course with a skills assessment, ideally from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. ECC training must include all the following:

Adult, Pediatric, and Second Rescuer CPR

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Airway obstruction & adjuncts (including oropharyngeal & nasopharyngeal airway)

Barrier devices (e.g., pocket mask, bag-valve mask)
