Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematical Sciences

As part of our close-knit mathematical sciences program, you'll receive more personal attention than you might expect from a small class. You'll get the intensive training needed to teach collegiate mathematics effectively. You’ll also be prepared to conduct your own research program in your future career. Each of our doctoral students can specialize in mathematics or mathematics education research and will have the opportunity to work closely with faculty and other graduate students on both research and teaching. Every doctoral candidate participates in a pair of semester-long teaching internships, during which you'll teach upper-level math classes under the supervision of an experienced faculty member.
