Primary School Preparation Course

The International Primary Preparation Course is a specialized program designed to equip international students, aged 9 to 12, with the necessary language proficiency, academic skills, and cultural understanding for a seamless transition into the Australian primary school system. This course is particularly beneficial for students entering Years 4 to 6, ensuring they are well-prepared for the academic and social environment of Australian schools. At Charlton Brown, the International Primary Preparation Course offers a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on developing English language skills—encompassing writing, speaking, listening, and reading—taught by specialist educators. In addition to language development, the program includes essential numeracy instruction tailored to upper-primary standards, health and physical education to promote social engagement and physical well-being, and basic computer skills to support digital literacy and academic tasks. The course aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and adheres to Australian school requirements, providing a robust foundation for students' future academic success. This program is ideal for international students who have not yet met the direct entry requirements for Australian primary schools. By participating in this course, students can enhance their English proficiency and academic capabilities, thereby meeting the necessary criteria for entry into mainstream education. Charlton Brown is committed to supporting young learners in their educational journey, ensuring they are well-prepared to thrive in the Australian primary school environment.
