Diploma in Accounting

Accounting is the backbone of business operations, dealing with budgets, profit and loss, and financial planning. Prepare for your career by completing either a one-year certificate or a two-year diploma. The Accounting program can be completed either full-time or part-time and is available both completely online and in-class. As with all Business Management programs, our Accounting program has a focus on sustainability, preparing you to be competitive in the changing business landscape.
An accounting education opens up numerous career paths including working for auditing and accounting firms as well as for all types of businesses throughout the private and public sectors.
You may choose to be self-employed as a consultant or contract specialist.
Your accounting education is a starting point to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Benefits of Our Program
Students who complete their Accounting diploma and BBA at College of the Rockies will be eligible to enter straight into a Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Professional Education Program (PEP). We recommend you speak with an Education Advisor regarding transfer credit.

Academic Requirements:
Complete all of the following

Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
Earned a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in at least 1 of the following:

ENST 12 – English Studies 12
ENFP 12 – English First Peoples 12
ENGL090 – English – Provincial Level

Complete 1 of the following

Earned a minimum grade of C (60%) in at least 1 of the following:

FOM 11 – Foundations of Mathematics 11
PREC 11 – Pre-Calculus 11
STAT 12 – Statistics 12
PREC 12 – Pre-Calculus 12
CALC 12 – Calculus 12
MATH080 – Mathematics – Advanced Level

Earned a minimum grade of C+ (65%) in at least 1 of the following:

FOM 12 – Foundations of Mathematics 12
GEO 12 – Geometry 12
CS 12 – Computer Science 12

English Language Proficiency Requirements:

TOEFL iBT – TOEFL Internet-based test: Overall 80 with minimum 13 in Reading, 21 in Writing, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking

IELTS Academic – International English language testing system: Direct entry academic program requirements: Overall 6.0 with no band less than 6.0; Conditional admit requirements: Overall 6.0 with no band less than 5.5; English Language Program pathway: Less than 6.0 overall

CAEL-CE – Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Test: Computer Edition (CE) score of 60 overall (no sub-score less than 60)

Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): PTE Academic – Academic overall 56
