Graduate Diploma in Professional Engineering - Electrical and Electronic Engineering

This course is designed for those who wish to convert into a different engineering discipline, or from an undergraduate science or technology degree. It provides foundational knowledge, skills and professional competencies for an engineer in your chosen discipline. On completion you will qualify to enter the Master of Professional Engineering where you will meet the Stage 1 academic requirements for chartered status as a professional engineer. There is hardly any aspect of modern civilisation that is not dependent upon electrical energy. Electrical Engineers consider generation, transmission and generation of electricity, as well as the harnessing of sources of renewable and sustainable energy. Electronic Engineers undertake the design and application of modern digital, electronic and communication systems. In this specialisation Electrical and Electronic Engineering is considered together as the combination reflects the convergence of these fields as society seeks more efficient, safe, reliable, and environmentally friendly solutions to engineering problems. This specialisation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering will provide students, from other discipline areas, content knowledge in areas specific to Electrical and Electronic Engineering. What you'll learnapply technical and theoretical knowledge and skills to identify and evaluate innovative solutions to complex engineering problemsrecognise the importance of culture, including that of local First Peoples, and be able to work respectfully and productively across culturesanalyse contemporary industry needs generate creative and innovative engineering solutionsapply engineering skills and knowledge, sustainability frameworks, and ethical approaches to address issues of international relevanceuse technology to facilitate problem solving and communicate effective and innovative solutions in an engineering contextrecognise the role of a professional engineer in society and work ethically and morally to develop a professional profile as an engineer
