Certificate in Gas Technician 2

The Gas Technician 2 program will give you additional knowledge in code requirements, propane fundamentals, system testing and troubleshooting so that you can challenge the Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) for a license that will get you one step closer to a rewarding career.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Mature Student Status and

Grade 12 English (C or U)

Grade 12 Mathematics (C, M or U)

Valid Oil Burner 3 license or proof of 75 percent or higher on the Oil Burner 3 practical evaluation

Pre-Placement Requirements

note students enrolled without a valid Gas Technician 3 license:

Will not be permitted to participate in work placement.

Will be unable to challenge the Gas Technician 2 TSSA exam.

Please note students enrolled without a valid Oil Burner 3 license:

Will be unable to challenge the Oil Burner 2 TSSA exam.

It is the student's responsibility to obtain TSSA licensing in order to participate in work placement.

English language proficiency

• Academic IELTS: 6.0, no band score less than 5.5
• Applicants with an Indian or Pakistani passport are required to submit official Academic IELTS test scores with a minimum overall score of 6.0, with no band score below 6.0, as per SDS guidelines. Select programs may require higher scores. TOEFL / PTE / CAEL test scores and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) will not be accepted.
• IBT TOEFL: 80, with minimum section scores of 20
• PTE Academic: 53 minimum overall, no section below 49 L,W,S,R
• CAEL: Overall scores of 60 with no section below 60
