With programs designed by an international body of industry experts, the Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) is one of the only institutes in the world that specializes in engineering education. Students will graduate with cutting-edge skills valued by employers around the world.
EIT offers online and on-campus study modes in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. In addition, professional development short courses, diplomas, advanced diplomas, graduate diplomas, undergraduate and graduate certificates are also available exclusively online. EIT's live and online courses are designed to help students balance their studies with work and other commitments.
A number of EIT's programs are recognized under the engineering accords, with vocational programs and higher education degrees registered and accredited by the Australian Government. With students from over 160+ countries, having trained over half a million engineers, technicians, and technologists over the last 30 years.
All EIT programs are delivered via a unique methodology that makes use of live and interactive webinars, an international pool of expert lecturers, dedicated learning support officers, and state-of-the-art technologies such as hands-on workshops, remote laboratories, and simulation software.
EIT compliments its unique teaching methodology with hands-on workshops in the form of remote and virtual labs. Industry-relevant remote labs are more comprehensive than most traditional classroom-based programs, while hands-on workshops provide students with applied knowledge.
Whether online or on-campus, EIT's supportive blended learning model allows learners to advance their technical knowledge and remain engaged by forming global networks.
EIT's lecturers are industry experts and experienced engineers who bring practical knowledge into the classroom. They share their expertise to prepare students for real-world workplace challenges. Carefully selected from around the globe, EIT lecturers are accessible for support through classroom sessions, phone, Skype, or email.
With small class sizes, students can easily connect with both their peers and lecturers, fostering a supportive learning environment where questions are encouraged.
Course coordinators provide ongoing academic guidance throughout students' study journey. Additional support is available for mathematics and English language skills to help students enhance their communication abilities.
Learning Support Officers (LSOs) provide dedicated guidance to EIT students throughout their studies. For higher education programs, each student is assigned one committed LSO per unit of study.
Students enrolled in vocational programs, such as graduate certificates, professional certificates, diplomas, or advanced diplomas receive continuous support from a dedicated LSO throughout their time at EIT.
The EIT Student Services Team creates a supportive learning environment for on-campus students, encouraging them to share any personal support needs before or during their studies. When necessary, students are also referred to external support services.
Each semester, EIT hosts an orientation for new students to help them settle in, connect with peers, explore the campus, and learn about available student services.
Students receive a pre-departure handbook with essential information for living and studying in Australia, along with free advice on suitable accommodation options.
EIT is hosting its flagship event, Virtual Open Week, from 15 to 19 September. This is one of the university's most anticipated online events, designed to give prospective students from around the world the opportunity to explore our programs, meet faculty, and gain insights into studying with EIT, online and on-campus.
Participants are welcome to join any sessions that align with their interests, or attend all sessions for a comprehensive overview of EIT and our global offerings.
Students can arrange their attendance through the event page on the university website.

On-Campus - Master of Engineering (Mechanical)
From Australia
Juggling work and studies can be demanding but feasible, as indicated by Hendrick van Heerden, currently enrolled in an online Master of Engineering (Mechanical) program at EIT. Hendrick, a motivated individual, is concurrently pursuing a full-time job while working towards his master's degree. Read more about Hendrick's story.
EIT bachelor's and master's degrees require students to have 240 hours of paid or unpaid professional work-integrated learning. This includes internships, networking activities, site visits, and helping with industry projects.
To aid on-campus students with no industry experience through the process of application for work- integrated learning, EIT offers assistance with their resume development, interview skills, presentation skills, and helping them get in touch with its industry partners.
Students have the opportunity to engage with employees and are exposed to work culture when taking up internships. They learn about official communication, more about engineering disciplines, gain practical insights and aptitude as they work on projects from planning to completion.
EIT's hands-on workshops provide students with knowledge and experience using discipline-related materials and equipment. Students become competent through these workshops in tools, measurements, experimentation, and more.
EIT equips online and on-campus students with required skills that helps them put theory into practice. Its remote and virtual laboratories offer students access to specialised education and industrial engineering software and hardware, to be used in practical assessments throughout the duration of their course.
