Master of Music in Instrumental Performance, Strings Studio

The string program at FIU is designed to train the leading performers and educators of tomorrow. Through studies with the School of Music’s distinguished artist-faculty, students perform a broad repertory of solo, chamber, and orchestral literature. The School of Music features a thriving chamber music program, directed by FIU’s Ensemble-in-Residence, the Banff Award-winning Amernet String Quartet, which affords students an array of performance opportunities both on and off campus. Additionally, frequent master classes and workshops given by distinguished visiting artists are an integral part of the program. Graduates of the string program at FIU have gone on to careers as internationally recognized and award-winning chamber musicians, orchestral players, soloists, teachers and directors of performing arts organizations.
