Certificate IV in Information Technology (Web Development)

The Certificate IV in Information Technology (Web Development) prepares students to design, build and launch modern websites and web applications. Ideal for beginners, career changers and aspiring web developers, you'll learn front-end and back-end web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL and WordPress. Develop responsive websites, connect databases, create dynamic web content and explore AI-assisted web development tools through practical projects that reflect real industry requirements. Graduate with a professional portfolio showcasing live websites and job-ready web development skills for employment or further study. Web development is one of the most AI-accelerated fields you can enter currently. Developers who understand the fundamentals, how code works, how databases connect and how websites are deployed, are the ones using AI tools to build faster, ship more and stand out. This course gives you that foundation across the full stack, from your first HTML element to a live multi-page front-end or WordPress website deployed to cloud or shared web hosting. You will work with experienced teachers, with every session recorded on Brightspace so you can attend in person, join live via WebEx, or catch up later by watching the recorded classes. Hackathon events and TechTalk sessions with industry professionals run throughout the semester.

Successful completion of VCE Year 11, or an equivalent overseas qualification. Students must be at least 18 years old at the commencement of the course.
