English Plus

English plus helps students develop skills in sports or creative practices while progressing in their English. The course supports students in pursuing ambitions, growing confidence and celebrating achievement.
Students receive 15 hours of English lessons per week alongside 6 hours of specialist coaching in activities such as football, tennis, dance or movie-making.
Lessons are taught by qualified IH teachers, with coaching delivered in English by vetted specialists. This approach allows students to advance their language skills while developing their talents, gaining confidence and forming international friendships — all within a supportive boarding school environment.
Coaching options:
DanceStudents explore a range of styles, which may include Capoeira, Jazz, Street, Bollywood and Salsa. They will create their own dances and develop solo, partner and group routines.
FootballStudents are grouped by ability and coached in technique and tactics. Each session finishes with a tournament to put new skills into practice.
Movie-makingIdeal for aspiring filmmakers. Students learn camera skills, movie effects, directing, script writing and how to edit their own film.
TennisSessions focus on improving technique, footwork and confidence on court. Students then apply their skills in a match at the end of each session.
English plus combines English lessons taught by qualified teachers with 1.5 hours per day of specialist coaching in selected activities such as Movie-making, Tennis and more. This structure supports language development in the classroom while helping students build confidence and skills in their chosen activity.
