Year 6

Teaching & learning in our Primary School is guided by the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). The PYP is a rigorous, concept-driven and inquiry-based framework that brings learning together across subject areas, enabling students to make meaningful connections and apply their understanding in authentic contexts.

Our approach is learner-centred and places student voice, choice and agency at the heart of learning. Students are encouraged to ask questions, investigate ideas, reflect on their thinking and take increasing responsibility for their learning. Strong foundations in literacy and numeracy are prioritised, ensuring students develop the essential skills, knowledge and strategies required for success across all areas of learning.

The IB PYP provides the framework through which the Australian Curriculum is taught and assessed. As a globally recognised programme for primary education, the PYP supports high academic expectations while developing internationally minded learners who are thoughtful, reflective and prepared to engage with an interconnected world.
