Irvine Valley College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), which ensures that all programs and services are reviewed through self-study and peer review every seven years. The most recent accreditation took place in June 2017 and found several areas for commendation, including creating an engaging learning environment, offering the required resources to all students to allow full learning participation, and guiding students successfully into university.
Irvine Valley College offers a number of academic programs across various schools, giving the widest range of study options for those who wish to enroll.
In terms of academic schools, students can choose from various learning paths covering a range of topics. There are 11 academic schools in total at the college.
The Arts school covers topics around arts, dance, music and theatre, and includes a performing arts center where gallery events and live performances are held.
The School of Business Sciences includes units based around accounting, computer information, real estate and entrepreneurship, covering everything an aspirational business student could need.

Students who wish to enroll to study at Irvine Valley College must be able to demonstrate that they have completed high school. In addition, international students who are interested in applying can complete the online application form. On acceptance of their application, they will receive a student ID number and will be asked to submit additional documents including bank statements that demonstrate the ability to afford the tuition fees, proof of high school completion, and proof of English language proficiency.
Application to IVC is an easy process and applicants will be assisted every step of the way by the knowledgeable and friendly staff at the International Student Program.
Upon acceptance, international students will then complete their on-boarding process, including registration at the college and orientation.
Of all 116 community colleges located in California, Irvine Valley College has the highest rate of students transferring onto a four-year university course upon completion of their college studies. Of the colleges in Orange County, IVC transfers the most students to UC Irvine, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UCLA, UC Riverside and UC San Diego, although students transfer from IVC to many other prestigious universities further afield too, including Brown, Columbia and Caltech. IVC offers Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAG) to six University of California (UC) campuses and 24 guaranteed transfer majors to the California State University (CSU) system.
All courses at IVC are a mix of academic study and preparation for either further education or entry into the working world. Students are given the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills that will further their knowledge but also ensure they are able to continue in their chosen field, being fully equipped to succeed at further levels of education.
Irvine Valley College has a number of services available to support students during their studies and general life at the college. All students are welcomed at IVC, with dedicated offices helping to ensure a level playing field regardless of background.
International students at Irvine Valley College enjoy personalized attention and support. The International Student Program offers specialized advising and academic counseling services, social activities, workshops and university transfer assistance for international students. This office works with international students from the time of application until the time students graduate and transfer, ensuring excellent support throughout the educational experience.
The Office of Student Life provides all students with an opportunity to get involved on campus, meet other students and learn more about their chosen fields of study. Social opportunities include over 50 campus clubs, monthly student events, Student Government and learning opportunities throughout the year.
Academic support is readily available through the Student Success Center which offers free tutoring in a variety of subjects. There are also computer labs, language and math labs available to assist students with academic coursework.

The college continues to receive new funding too. One of the most recent examples is a $250,000 investment into the IVC Performing Arts Center by Irvine resident Masoud Rezanoor. This new investment will provide enrichment opportunities for the music department, and has seen the main stage of the center renamed to the Rezanoor Stage in thanks.
