BSc (Econ) (Hons) Economics and Politics (Queen Mary University of London)

Untangle complex national and global issues from two different and complementary perspectives. Looking at the economy as a whole is a central part of this course, but you’ll analyse the behaviour and motivations of individuals and companies too. You’ll also combine insights and perspectives from economic and political theory to explore social issues such as globalisation, racism, and political violence. This degree offers professional training in economics and invaluable political understanding, alongside transferable research, analytical and communication skills. We’ll help you master the quantitative techniques you need to investigate relationships between economic variables. In our Bloomberg trading room, you’ll use the same economic and financial data used by practitioners in industry. You can complete your Economics and Politics degree in three, four or five years. If you choose to spend a year studying abroad or take a year in industry, this will take place in Year 3, and the Year 3 modules will instead be studied in Year 4.
