Academic

International students must meet the academic entry requirements for their chosen program and supply the relevant transcripts (in English) to the university as part of their application process.

LIU Brooklyn is test-optional for the SAT/ACT for most programs.

As part of the application process, students will need to submit two letters of recommendation alongside an essay or writing sample (undergraduate), or a personal statement and CV (graduate).

For the most part, the English language requirements to study a degree program at LIU Brooklyn are as follows:

Long Island University (LIU) has two main campuses, each offering a distinctive environment with facilities designed around students' academic, recreational and social needs.

• LIU Brooklyn: An 11-acre urban campus with dedicated academic, creative, health and recreational facilities. Prices vary according to room type, but in the 2026/27 academic year, rates start at USD 5,377 per semester.

Residential meal plans offer students a way to ensure they maintain a balanced and nutritional diet throughout their study experience. Plans range from USD 2,723 to USD 3,277 per semester.

Sports and social
