Bachelor of Science in Human Biosciences / Physics (Joint Honours)

Many of our undergraduates conduct research through the Memorial University Career Experience Program (MUCEP), ISWEP, Student Undergraduate Research Award (SURA) and other summer research programs. Ongoing research activities include studying the progression of cancer, the development of the immune system, describing protein structures that may lead to drug development, the role of small RNA in the control of gene expression, and how proteins that detect chemical signals in the body are involved in health and disease.

In addition to the major, honours and minor options in Human Biosciences, joint programs are offered in:

Minimum score of 24 on the IB Diploma with completion of the required subject areas or completion of another recognized High School diploma program. The IB certificate and career programs are not acceptable for admission unless another recognized High School diploma or certificate has been awarded. IELTS - A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on the IELTS Academic with at least a band 6 in reading and writing General training results are not acceptable. For admission to winter Jan 2025 and later A minimum score of 83 on the TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing For admission to fall Sept 2024 and earlier A minimum score of 79 on the TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing and not less than 17 in listening and speaking. Duolingo English Test DET until spring 2025 only - Requirement A minimum overall score of 115. Pearson Test of Academic English PTE ACADEMIC - Requirement - For admission to winter Jan 2025 and later A minimum overall score of 60. For admission to fall Sept 2024 and earlier A minimum score of 58 in each of the reading writing listening and speaking components of the PTE is required.
