Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Monash University Malaysia gives students the opportunity to obtain a prestigious Australian degree closer to home. There are eight schools at Monash University Malaysia.

• The School of Pathways and Immersion offers pathway programs such as the Diploma of Business and the Diploma of Higher Education Studies. It also runs the free Flagship Rich Educational Experience.
• The School of Arts and Social Sciences offers an innovative and multidisciplinary curriculum that addresses the key cultural, social and political issues facing the world, providing students with tools for an exciting and dynamic career.
• The School of Business is one of the few business schools in Malaysia accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Courses are industry-driven and internationally recognised
• The School of Engineering offers undergraduate degrees in biomedical, chemical, civil, electrical and computer systems, materials, mechanical, robotics and mechatronics, and software engineering that are professionally accredited by Engineers Australia. Monash's engineering graduates can work in any other signatory country without having to requalify.
• The School of Information Technology is focused on innovating technologies that benefit society and is committed to research themes that cover emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, cyber security, digital health, and software engineering.
• The Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences provides students with the school's global perspective, modern facilities and inquisitive research focus to change lives in Malaysia and around the world.
• The School of Pharmacy uses the same robust, current and evolving curriculum offered at the Parkville campus in Australia. Monash is ranked fourth in the world for pharmacy and pharmacology by the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.
• The School of Science offers courses with a strong regional focus and a global perspective. Its science degrees are known for their flexibility and choice, with a wide range of specialisations to choose from.

General English language requirements

Students applying to Monash Malaysia must provide evidence of their English language ability prior to admission. The university accepts IELTS or TOEFL scores. Refer to the website for specific English language requirements. Students who do not meet any of the English language requirements are encouraged to pursue the Monash English program.

Students must have good English language skills which are necessary for all academic programs taught at Monash. They can demonstrate their English language proficiency through various means, including:

• English proficiency tests
• Learning the language at Year 12 or its equivalent
• Learning at an educational institution where English is the primary language of instruction
• Monash English

If students have attained more than one of the English language requirements over a period of time, only the most recent demonstration of English proficiency will be considered.

Submission of evidence

Students are required to submit full documentary evidence to support their English proficiency with their application for candidature.

For undergraduate students:

• Monash High Achiever Award: Available for students who have met the expected scores, with a RM 5,000 tuition fee waiver per semester.
• Monash Medicine Bursary: Open to students of the Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine program. Each bursary offers a total of RM 50,000 (RM 10,000 per year over a five-year study period). Limited to 10 recipients per intake.
• Female in Engineering Scholarship: Available for new female students of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) only, offering a RM 6,000 tuition fee waiver for the first year of study. Limited to 20 recipients per year.
• Monash Pharmacy Equity Scholarship: This offers a 50 or 100 percent tuition fee waiver along with a laptop allowance and a monthly stipend for a select few applicants to the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours).
• Monash Equity Scholarship: This offers a 50 or 100 percent tuition fee waiver along with a laptop allowance and a monthly stipend for a select few applicants.
• Monash Pharmacy Excellence Scholarship: Open to students wanting to study the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours), offering a 25 to 50 percent tuition fee waiver for the duration of the course.

For postgraduate students:

• Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship: 100 percent tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend for successful applicants pursuing a graduate research degree (Master or PhD). Awarded on a competitive basis.
• Graduate Research Tuition Fee Waiver Scholarship: Up to 100 percent tuition fee waiver for successful applicants pursuing a graduate research degree (Master or PhD).
• Global Excellence and Mobility Scholarship (GEMS): 100 percent tuition fee waiver and a monthly stipend for 33-36 months in Malaysia, plus a monthly stipend and a grant to cover travel and living expenses in Australia for up to 9 months. Limited to 15 recipients per year.
• Alumni Bursary: 10 percent tuition fee waiver for Monash alumni applying for any master by coursework programs.

Library

Monash Malaysia's local collection carries more than 51,000 items comprising books and audio-visual materials. The Monash community can also access Monash Australia's extensive electronic collections.

IT services

Monash Malaysia has fully equipped computer laboratories with outstanding audio/visual aids and offers students a supportive and modern environment for research, classes, assignments as well as special projects. All students have access to wireless connectivity on campus.

International student support

Monash Malaysia has a dedicated team to assist international students with their accommodation, airport pick-up, medical insurance, places to eat, health and wellbeing, orientation, and other general support to help them settle in.

Student safety

Monash Malaysia's Campus Security operates 24/7 to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Various officials including heads of schools, supervisors, as well as directors of administrative divisions have a number of occupational health and safety as well as environmental responsibilities. Diploma of Business

This diploma is a direct and reliable pathway to Monash's Bachelor of Business and Commerce, providing the skills necessary to meet the expectations Monash has of students at an undergraduate level.

Bachelor in Actuarial Analytics

This specialist degree offers advanced skills in actuarial science and business analytics. With a curriculum carefully designed to align with the needs of data-driven industries, students will be well-positioned for success in actuarial science, business/data analytics, investment, finance, and banking.

Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering (Honours)

This four-year engineering degree focuses on applying engineering design skills to medical and biological sciences to improve people's health. Students will study their first two years in Malaysia and their final years a Monash's Clayton campus in Australia.

Master of Biotechnology
