Advanced Diploma in Island Pre-Health Science

The Island Pre-Health program is designed to prepare you for advanced professional health training, including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and more. You'll spend years one and two of the program developing core competencies to prepare for upper-level health sciences and biology courses. In year three, shift your focus to higher-level studies in health sciences, including pathobiology, epidemiology and pharmacology. Students will gain experiential knowledge by working with local health professionals and learning from Indigenous Elders and communities throughout the program. After graduating, be ready to apply for a wide range of advanced health programs.

This is a competitive limited entry program. Students who have completed their application and met the program admission requirements will be ranked based on a combination of academic and non-academic requirements.

Application requirements are:

High school graduation

C in English 12 or equivalent or successful English assessment or IELTS 6.0 or equivalent or ENG 104

C+ in Pre-Calculus 12 or equivalent or successful Math assessment

C+ in Chemistry 12 or NIC CHE 060

C+ in Biology 12 or NIC BIO 060

C in Physics 11 or NIC PHY 050

English language requirement:

Academic IELTS: overall score of 6.0, no band lower than 5.5

TOEFL IBT: 80 overall with no subsection less than 19

CAEL: 60 and writing 60

PTE Academic: 54 overall with no component less than 46

Cambridge Assessment of English - C1 Advanced: 174 overall with no sub-score less than 165

Duolingo English Test: 105 with no section less than 95. Re-test score within 3 weeks between each testing is NOT accepted.
