Certificate in Women Unlimited

The Women Unlimited program is a unique offering designed to assist diverse women explore a range of trades and technology careers in which they are typically underrepresented. This free program is intended to serve as a bridge to other post-secondary programs – upon completion, you’re: Ready to make informed decisions about your future career
Eligible to enrol in a School of Trades and Transportation program , Eligible to enrol in a technology program in our School of Technology and Environment
In Women Unlimited you:
Explore a range of trades and technology programs to discover what interests you and prepare for meaningful employment.
Get introduced to and use basic tools and equipment.
Participate in site visits to local employers to see how different operations work and what the working conditions are like.
Hear from guest speakers including alumni, employers, union representatives, apprenticeship training consultants and women working in trades and technology.
Explore opportunities and challenges diverse women face, the importance of diversity in training programs and workplaces, and strategies to support your success.
Attend sessions to help build your self-esteem, goal setting, time management, restorative communications and problem solving.
Work on your presentation skills and improve your health and wellness.
Build a range of job search strategies and learn from the experiences of other diverse women through Women Unlimited alumni mentoring.
Learn about the labour market and how to plan your career path in trades and technology.
Career options
Once you’ve earned a College credential and are prepared to enter the workforce, you’ll receive support with application forms, resumes and cover letters.

High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.

Applicants must identify as a woman and must be at least 18 years of age by the time the program begins.

Referred by a third-party agency (such as Nova Scotia Works or Department of Community Services - Employment Support Services)

To participate in this program, you must identify as a woman and be:

Able to attend an information session

Unemployed, underemployed or working less than 20 hours a week

Interested in exploring trades and technology careers

Available to attend 14 weeks of full-time programming

Entitled to work in Canada

Must not be in school, community college or a full-time adult-learning program

Copy of board-attested or direct-issued Certificate issued by All India – Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), All India – Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), or State Boards of Higher Secondary Education.

Copy of Statement of Marks/Mark Sheet for Grade 12. School-issued transcripts/records with marks are not acceptable.
