Master of Legal Studies

The Master of Legal Studies (M.L.S.) program at Penn State Dickinson Law is a flexible graduate degree program that combines online and in-person learning. Designed for professionals and aspiring leaders, the program provides a strong foundation in the U.S. legal system, public policy, and the regulatory frameworks that shape institutions, organizations, and society.

Eligible students must hold at least a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree from a duly accredited or recognized institution of higher education in the U.S. or abroad but cannot hold a terminal degree in law from a U.S. law school (e.g., J.D., LL.M., or S.J.D./J.S.D.).

Applicants to Dickinson Law’s M.L.S. Program are required to submit official transcripts from all relevant academic institutions previously attended. Transcripts must include both the original and a certified English translation. Applicants who apply through LSAC must comply with all LSAC requirements and policies regarding transcripts, and submit their official transcripts and translations with the LSAC form(s) through the LSAC LL.M. Credential Assembly Service (which is used for both LL.M. and M.L.S. applicants).
