Course info

The Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Graduate Certificate program is an 18-hour program designed to prepare both licensed and non-licensed teachers to work with English Language Learners in a variety of educational settings in the United States and around the world. All of the courses may be applied to the Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction Degree with an emphasis in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Students may choose to pursue the MS TESOL degree at any time while enrolled in a certificate program or after its completion. Licensed teachers in Kansas who successfully complete the coursework with a passing score on the ESOL PRAXIS™ can add a PreK-12 endorsement to their existing teaching license. Other states may have additional endorsement requirements. Note: the certificate program does not lead to an initial US teaching license.
