The MA Education programme at Queen Margaret University aims to engage educators from a wide range of backgrounds with education as social science for social transformation, exploring the role that education plays in the development of emancipatory educational policy and practice. This programme would benefit students with an enthusiasm for enhancing their knowledge and critical appreciation of the principles of contemporary education in the context of international practice and policy and social justice. On this programme, you will view your existing knowledge and practical experience using a social science lens to learn contemporary reflective and research skills that will enrich your careers in the education profession across a variety of settings. Combining staff expertise drawn from the education sector within Britain and Canada, the MA Education programme will offer you an opportunity to reflect on your own positionality when educating or being educated in various education systems. This, combined with the action-based and community-oriented approach to research taken by the programme staff, will allow you to interrogate the impact of educational research, alongside educational practice.
