Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering - Neuroengineering

The goal of neuroengineering is to control, monitor, and augment the function of the nervous system. To achieve these goals neuroengineers apply knowledge from multiple disciplines including bioengineering. Faculty in the Rice University Bioengineering department work on new methods of imaging, modeling and control of neural circuit activity, drug and gene delivery, and understanding the biophysical basis of operation and interfacing with sensory organs, such as the auditory system.
