The MBS Biotechnology & Genomics concentration prepares students to manage technical advancements and commercial applications across the molecular biological sciences. Through our biotechnology program, students gain expertise in biotechnology, genomics and proteomics, biochemistry, cell biology, systems biology, and nanobiotechnology.
This biotechnology training applies to a wide range of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceutical development, personal care, agriculture, alternative energy, environmental monitoring and restoration, and nanotechnology. Students also develop essential business skills in finance, entrepreneurship, leadership, intellectual property, ethics, regulatory affairs, and artificial intelligence (AI), enabling them to lead innovation at the intersection of science and business.
Students can apply their knowledge in industries including healthcare, pharmaceutical development, personal care, agriculture, alternative energy, environmental monitoring and restoration, and nanotechnology.

Entry requirements for Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey - New Brunswick

Students must have a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, genomics, genetics, biochemistry, biology, or a related field. Prerequisite coursework includes two semesters of biology, two semesters of general chemistry, two semesters of organic chemistry, one semester of calculus, and one semester of genetics. All applicants who attended an institution outside of the U.S. must submit a (course by course) credential evaluation through WES or ECE. If a WES or ECE is submitted, your original (untranslated) transcripts are not required.
